If you’ve always wanted to sample the luxury of Crystal Cruises, I have good news for you: the line has crafted a unique, 5-Night Alaska sailing that is sure to please those looking for a quick taste of the good life.

Departing from Seward, Alaska on April 24, 2013 aboard the Crystal Symphony, passengers are treated to a quick but enriching voyage through Alaska.

Along the way, Crystal Symphony will cruise the Gulf of Alaska before arriving at one of the region’s most spectacular highlights: Glacier Bay. Breathtaking in any sort of weather conditions, scenic cruising through Glacier Bay is something I consider to be an essential component of any voyage through Alaska. Few things can compare to the sight of your ship nestled up against the relative hulk of the 34 kilometer-long Margerie Glacier, waiting for the ice to calve into the ocean with a mighty crack that sounds like cannon reports.

Guests aboard the Crystal Symphony will also be able to visit the beautiful town of Ketchikan, also known as the ‘Salmon Capital of the World.’  Here, you can roam around historic Creek Street, with its colourful wooden houses resting upon timber planks that suspend them from the water below. Today, this is one of Ketchikan’s most popular (and most photographed) tourist areas, but in the time of the Gold Rush, Creek Street was the town’s original Red Light district.
