One of the most dangerous pastimes for me is pouring myself a glass of wine and browsing the Silversea Cruises website. The issue isn’t the wine; it’s that with every click I find more voyages that interest and excite me. It’s bad enough that the line’s ultra-luxury ships fit me like a glove, but it’s even harder to resist their all-inclusive expedition cruises that sail to nearly every corner of the globe.

If you’re like me (I have to assume you are; you’re reading this site, after all!), then allow me to digitally twist your arm with something enticing: Silversea has announced they’re extending their Silver Wave promotional offer that was unveiled late last year; it’s now valid for new bookings made on select sailings by January 31, 2015.

On these specific voyages, guests can receive a shipboard credit of up to $1,000 per suite on select sailings, plus a complimentary suite upgrade valued at up to $1,800. The suite upgrade is a fantastic little perk, but the real feature to write home about is the gigantic shipboard credit. Since nearly everything is included aboard Silversea, from fine wines to spirits and all gratuities, the only thing you really have to pay for are ultra-premium spirits, spa treatments and shore excursions on the line’s classic luxury fleet. Excursions and shore landings are complimentary on their luxury expedition cruises operated aboard Silver Explorer, Silver Discoverer and Silver Galapagos.

When some cruise lines offer specials, they’re for the run-of-the-mill sailings that you’ve already been on once…or ten times. The Silver Wave promotion, on the other hand, covers a variety of departure dates on itineraries in Africa; Alaska; the Arctic; Australia & New Zealand; the Caribbean & South America; Mediterranean, Micronesia, Melanesia & Polynesia; and Northern Europe & The British Isles.

The Silver Wave promo is even offered on Silver Explorer’s massively spectacular journey from Ushuaia, Argentina to Cape Town, South Africa as part of Voyage 7506 departing March 8 2015. What’s so cool about this sailing? How about six full days spent exploring South Georgia where polar explorer Ernest Shackleton is buried, coupled with visits to the Falkland Islands and a two-night overnight call on Cape Town.

The other offer of note is aimed at Caribbean-bound passengers departing with Silversea from Fort Lauderdale; Bridgetown, Barbados; San Juan, Puerto Rico; or Los Angeles, California aboard the elegant Silver Spirit through the Panama Canal. On these select sailings, guests can enjoy a two-night pre-cruise stay at the W South Beach for Fort Lauderdale departures; the Hilton Barbados Resort for Bridgetown departures; the InterContinental Resort for San Juan; and the InterContinental Century City for Los Angeles sailings. They even throw in group transfers from the hotel to the pier.

Sailing into 2015 with Silversea has never looked so attractive!
