If you’ve got time and a sense of adventure, ultra-luxury line Silversea just might have the once-in-a-lifetime trip you’ve been looking for.

As part of their Silversea Expeditions brand of luxury adventure cruising, the line has created five special Grand Expeditions – journeys that combine two very different luxury expedition cruises along with a land adventure to create one massive experience.

These Grand Expeditions begin with a weeklong cruise in the Galapagos Islands aboard Silver Galapagos, Silversea’s dedicated Ecuadorian expedition vessel. Launched in 2013, the ship was heavily refitted in 2013 and 2014 to better tailor it to the needs of Silversea guests. She sails alternating Western and North-Central Galapagos Island itineraries departing roundtrip from Baltra.

Following the voyage aboard Silver Galapagos, guests are then treated to a land adventure through South America before they embark Silversea’s other expedition vessel, the luxurious Silver Explorer.

These five Grand Expeditions range in duration from 18 to 34 days, and each include a different voyage aboard Silver Explorer. Sailings include voyages to Central America, South America, and Antarctica – the pinnacle of all expedition cruising.

“Our Grand Expeditions offer a unique blend of overland adventure combined with two amazing expedition cruise experiences — all expertly curated by our destination experts,” said Kristian Anderson, Silversea’s senior vice president and general manager for the Americas.

Voyages include all landside hotel accommodations, land tours, return air travel between mainland Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands; intra-tour air travel, ground transportation, and charter flights to Ushuaia, Argentina for connections to Silver Explorer’s Antarctica voyages, if applicable. Pricing incorporates cruise fares for both voyages at 20 percent off the individual published rate.
