This past spring, I sailed aboard Vantage Deluxe World Travel’s River Voyager on her maiden voyage along Europe’s Rhine.

Carrying just 176 guests served by a crew of 45, River Voyager was designed from the ground-up to be Vantage’s most elaborate ship to-date, with onboard décor that reflects some of the world’s greatest jazz musicians.

It may sound like an odd pairing, but it works perfectly aboard River Voyager – a ship that primarily draws its guests from the United States and Canada. Top-end suites have been named after a great jazz musician, and artwork, photographs, and posters throughout the ship honour jazz in all its many forms. The carpeting in the ship’s interior corridors even boasts a musical notation pattern that weaves like sheet music from forward to aft.

At 442 feet in length, she is a modern, well-designed slice of Americana in Europe; a near-perfect blending of cultures and styles.
